Train to Ljubljana and 1st day....

We arrived early at the 3rd railway station in BudaPest, it was the most modern and communistic of the 3. We all had some street food from vendors there (most of us had gyros, pižža and a hot dog were the chosen food items) before boarding the train. we picked a newer looking car and sure enough, it was in excellant shape. When the train left, we were bumbling along nicely, and enjoying the lovely scenery, when we crossed over the border to Slovenia. When the Slovenian conductor came along, he told us we would have to get off the train at some town, Ormuz I think. the tracks were under repair. he did not speak much english, but there was a Canadian couple on the train and they were told the same thing. So, we figured ok, we will get off and hopefully there will be other transportation, a bus like the conductor mentioned. yes, yes, bus, bus. there was!! lovely ride for about 40 minutes to beyond the track repair and onto another train. oh, should say here that the homes, farms, barns, stables all look so well maintained with full flower boxes on every conceiveable place and shelf. it was so pretty!! we thought it was a little Disney like in a way. The train moved fast when it could and we were only 15 minutes behind schedule. Took taxi to pensione. Lovely, just lovely. Pod Lippo Pensione. ljubljana is a very lovely city. Definitely the Cafe place. the women all dress up, looking very ˝with it˝ and sharp. we have been wandering all day, stopping to try on shoes (gladiator sandals are still going strong), having a beer, wine, fried squid, ice cream. Climb up to the Castle, ride the funicular back down. oh, did i mention it was very hot here?? HOT! love it!!! after a short nap, we are just about ready to head out again, grab a glass of wine and or beer, people watch, and then find a place to eat dinner. My this is a pretty town, and country. Found a salt shop that sells salt they have been harvesting for 1000s of years. (even salt chocolate!).....
