To the island of Solta, off Split

Made our own breakfast of scrambled eggs, fresh baguette from bakery shop, coffee ( hmm, that could've been better), Nutella, butter, and let's not forget prosciutto ! Yum!

We met our tour guide, strolled down the Riva (riverside waslikg street), and met up with the other tour dude. He walked us to ferry, got our tickets, gave us a short blurb on our day, and we shoved off at 9:15am. It's beautiful here. We are touring an olive producer, have lunch made by his Mama, I think it's a risotto with sea like grilled in...octopus, squid, shrimp... Will confirm that later....then to a honey producer, these are all organic, small family-run little productions. We were supposed to tour a family-run vineyard, but our guide today said nooo, but we could ask our driver and perhaps if time (and inclination) we might get to see it. Oh. Ace said the guide said it's not really a vineyard; the guy makes it in his basement.... However, he did tell us this island is where zinfendel was 'created / invented'. Good wine I gyess. :). It's to be 89 today. Sun sun sun here we come!....

We have requested a lamb dish for tonight. Lamb here are raised on herbs & grasses close to the sea, so it has a saltiness to the taste. Lamb is slow cooked in a peka, a large pot with lid that has hot coals laced on top of lid. Orators are added; takes 4 hrs. You have to order this dish 24 hrs in advance. Can't wait!
